Globulation 2 brings a new type of gameplay to RTS games. The player chooses the number of units to assign to various tasks, and the units do their best to satisfy the requests. This allows players to manage more units and focus on strategy rather than individual unit's jobs. Globulation 2 also features AI allowing single-player games or any possible combination of human-computer teams. Also included is a [[Scripting|scripting language]] for versatile gameplay or tutorials and an integrated map editor. We are currently migrating away from our [http://lissrv3.epfl.ch/wiki/ old wiki]. You are welcome to check the [[Todo|Todo list]] and help us migrating :)

The game is currently moving towards a 1.0 release - we have just released our first beta version of the game, so no new gameplay features will be added before we reach version 1.0. Once we're satisfied that the we've chased the last bugs out of the system so far as we can, we will release version 1.0.

Major work is now being done in the 1.1 branch (which for historical reasons is often referred to as the "map-rewrite" branch). The plan at present is that the 1.1 release should be largely a developer's release, with a thorough review and rewrite of the code, but no significant changes to gameplay.

;Tester: The more testers; the better gameplay and the less bugs.
* The current tutorial and campaign are too short and don't really leave players with a good grasp of the game. Also, gameplay features have changed since the campaign was written, making some of the later levels almost impossible to complete. The game has a built-in map editor, and creating a new tutorial or campaign would help new players immensely.
;Documenter: We always welcome people who can write documentation on playing the game, to go along with the tutorial
